At Aluminium Dunkerque, the low-carbon transition is also being built collectively

As part of its decarbonisation plan, known as Low Cal, Aluminium Dunkerque rolled out the ‘2 Tonnes’ workshops to all its staff last March. This awareness-raising initiative, focused on climate issues, reached nearly 500 employees from across all areas of the company.

The aim: to make climate-related issues accessible to everyone through practical, participatory workshops free from guilt-tripping rhetoric.

By sharing everyday situations and realistic courses of action, participants discovered how certain habits can help reduce their carbon footprint whilst generating tangible benefits: improved quality of life, positive health impacts, savings, and even contributing to the company’s environmental commitments. More than just a training course, “2 Tonnes” is above all an invitation to better understand the challenges of the transition and to collectively identify simple and accessible levers for action. It is a way for Aluminium Dunkerque to engage its teams in the long term in building a more responsible industry.
