From 1 to 3 April, Dunkirk hosted the Batteries Event, bringing together international, national and local players in the industry at the heart of the European Battery Valley. Exhibitions, tours and conferences punctuated this key event in the region.

March is International Women’s Rights Day. To mark the occasion, La Voix du Nord published portraits of women working in industry in its supplement ‘Demain Dunkerque’. At Aluminium Dunkerque, Léa Caty, Maintenance Pilot, took part in the game.

For several months, three engineering students from ICAM will be carrying out advanced thermal studies and exploring practical solutions to optimise the energy consumption of our equipment, with the help of our teams. The aim is to reduce gas consumption and CO2 emissions.

On Wednesday 12 March, Laurent Courtois, Director of Energy and Climate, spoke at the European Industrial Energy Days in Amsterdam, which brought together all stakeholders from energy-intensive industries.

On 12 March, a delegation from Aluminium Dunkerque accepted an invitation from RTE to visit the Warande substation in Bourbourg, which supplies our production site directly with 225kV.

The first few months of the year are always busy with recruitment / school relations events, and the Aluminium Dunkerque HR team mobilised extensively to represent the company.

Organised in partnership with the Principal of Lycée Guy Debeyre and our recruitment department, this meeting brings together the RBDE, RIPREE, RDM and DDF referents (all school/company referents) from the Dunkirk and Inner Flanders area.

On Thursday 23 January, Aluminium Dunkerque celebrated the New Year with its teams at lunchtime and its partners in the evening.

On Tuesday 14 January, Aluminium Dunkerque inaugurated its new storage building for internal and external foundry scrap. This building will enable the sector to remelt scrap quickly and feed Furnace 8 for the production of casting alloys. This is the first phase of the recycling project, with the second phase corresponding to the start-up of the new furnace in April 2025.
