Aluminium Dunkerque alongside the Hauts-de-France Region at the Osaka World Expo

On 17 September, the Hauts-de-France Region was in the spotlight at the French Pavilion during the Osaka World Expo. A delegation of around twenty industrialists, including Simon Moka for Aluminium Dunkerque, as well as representatives from the worlds of culture and higher education, accompanied Xavier Bertrand, President of the Region.

The aim was to promote the Region and its attractiveness to Japanese investors. Hauts-de-France is home to the largest number of Japanese companies in France, with nearly 80 establishments in the region.

Three round tables were organised to present the Region and promote access to low-carbon electricity and decarbonisation initiatives. Simon Moka took part in the round table entitled ‘Rev3: the relevant path to align Decarbonisation with Economic Growth’, alongside EDF and ACC, the battery gigafactory in Douai. These discussions attracted many participants, particularly from the Kansai region, where Osaka is located, which accounts for 14% of Japan’s GDP.
