From 1 to 3 April, Dunkirk hosted the Batteries Event, bringing together international, national and local players in the industry at the heart of the European Battery Valley. Exhibitions, tours and conferences punctuated this key event in the region.
Aluminium Dunkerque was represented at two round tables :
Our President, Guillaume de Goÿs, spoke at a plenary session bringing together the main players in the value chain. He emphasised the key role of aluminium in the energy and environmental transition and, more particularly, in electric mobility. Highly conductive, lightweight, corrosion-resistant and infinitely recyclable, aluminium is an essential component of electric batteries in particular.
Wilfrid Liot and Laurent Courtois, Sales Director and Energy Climate Director respectively, took part in a workshop on equipment and materials. They emphasised the strong growth in demand for low-carbon aluminium in the automotive industry and the role that Aluminium Dunkerque, ideally located in Battery Valley, intends to play in the local sector by collaborating with other players in the electrification of vehicles, in particular by supplying low-carbon aluminium and developing short-loop recycling.
